Intifada française? De l'importation du conflit israélo-palestinien

The onset of the Second Intifada in the fall of 2000 coincided with a spectacular increase in the number of anti-Semitic acts in France. Ever since, every outbreak of violence in the Middle East has resulted in a surge of tensions on French territory, to the extent that some are talking about an "importation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

The author of this book has sought to understand the mechanisms which have led to this phenomenon. To this end, he immersed himself for several years in pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian environments. He analyzed the literature produced by associations of both sides, participated in numerous demonstrations and interviewed dozens of activists. This allowed for the production of a balanced table of the evolution of French activism linked to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The history of pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian associations is recounted meticulously, insisting on the central role played by the Six-Day War, and, more recently, by the outbreak of the Second Intifada.

How are pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian organizations structured? What are activists' motivations? How do they operate? Is there a risk that this "importation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict" will worsen in the coming years? These are some of the questions that this book seeks to answer.
