Only devised a few years ago, the concept of the Indo-Pacific seeks to express a new configuration of the world’s globalization. In terms of economic exchange and power distribution, the Indo-Pacific is a unitary region spanning from the Persian Gulf to the Pacific, where all the major powers meet, size up and confront one another.

Reflection is needed on this new region, as well as on the political, economic, and military measures to be taken within it.

However, this concept of the Indo-Pacific is also an attempt to control a growing Chinese power, to restrain it through this interlacing of powers that will limit its importance. Will China accept this? And will it be possible to arrange the coexistence of such diverse interests in this vast area, while taking into account specific regional and local needs?
