Will Germany be ungovernable after the elections in 2017?

One year before the general elections and even if Angela Merkel remains a favourite, the political scene in Germany seems more fragmented than ever.

Germany celebrated German Unity Day on Monday, 3rd October which marks the date of the reunification in 1990. This year’s ceremony took place in Dresden (Saxe) where the German president Joachim Gauck and chancellor Angela Merkel were present. They were welcomed by extreme rightist partisans from Pegida, accusing them of being 'traitors of the German people'.
