The honorable Geoff Regan, Member of Parliament and Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada and Thierry de Montbrial, Founder and Executive Chairman of Ifri will make a few introductory remarks.

 

09:30 - 10:15 : Energy / Climate

To what extent will Canada's environmental policy evolve under the Trudeau government? What major changes can we expect at the national and provincial levels after the statements made at the COP 21?

10:15 - 11:00 : Trade Policy

Between CETA, TPP, and NAFTA, what is the situation with regard to Canada's foreign trade policy?

Speaker: Richard Ouellet, full professor, Quebec's Laval University's Law Faculty. 

Discussant: Sabrina Robert-Cuendet, lecturer, Law School of University Pantheon-Sorbonne, Paris 1.

 

11:30 - 12:30 : Security / Defence 

The Trudeau Government has reoriented the the coutry's policy in the Middle East. Should we expect a return to a more "traditional" Canadian foreign policy based on peacekeeping and humanitarian actions?   

Speaker: Ferry de Kerckhove, former Canadian ambassador in Egypt, researcher at the Centre for International Policy Studies and professor at the University of Ottawa.

Discussant: Jean-Baptiste Jangène-Vilmer, project manager at the "Centre d’analyse, de prévision et de stratégie" (CAPS) of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
