Ninth seminar of the United States Program at Ifri and the French American Foundation France.

The growing polarization of political life in the United States prevents the two parties from finding working compromises. This brings about an increasing distrust of the American people towards the political elite and the DC institutions. Are the federal system and the institutions put in place by the Constitution more than 200 years ago still in working order today?

With Arthur Goldhammer, The Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, Harvard University, Translator ; Nicole Bacharan, Research Associate, FNSP and Antoine Garapon, Vice-President, Institut des Hautes Etudes sur la Justice. Chaired by Jacques Mistral, Head of Economic Studies, Ifri.
