An increasing number of projects in the health sector in Africa draw on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

ICTs can help us answer, if only partially, the three main challenges posed to health in Africa: promote health insurance, palliate the lack of qualified personnel, improve the quality and the density of health-related infrastructures. If the results of such a strategy are promising, the development of projects on the ground is hampered by the lack of long-term funding.
