Practical information
Conference-debate with Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, former Afghan Minister of Foreign Affairs, former candidate to the Afghan presidency, and leader of the democratic opposition in Afghanistan. The conference will be chaired by Pierre Lafrance, President of the association Madera and former French Ambassador to Pakistan.
Following the London conference on Afghanistan and the international community's agreement for further commitment to this country's future, the need is now to open channels with the Taliban in hopes of bringing an end to the insurgency. But in the midst of this political assessment, it should not be forgotten that a democratic opposition exists in Afghanistan.
The conference will be held in English.
