Investing in the Energy Sector : An Issue of Governance
Corps analyses

In the context of economic crisis, high volatility of energy prices, climate change and resource nationalism, ensuring the necessary level of investment in energy is an important challenge. How to make sure that the right investments are made at the right time? This study shows that governance plays a major role in this. It analyzes how energy investments are currently governed at the global level and points to weak points in the current system. The authors show that a sound legal framework is necessary for energy investments and make propositions on how to improve investment governance in the energy sector.
