Lors de ce séminaire-débat, Alice Ekman, chercheur associé au Centre Asie Ifri, chargée des activités de recherche touchant à la Chine, présentera les conclusions de sa récente étude sur les orientations de la politique étrangère chinoise.
La position de la Chine sur de nombreux enjeux internationaux est difficile à identifier, tant par les observateurs que par les praticiens au contact direct de la diplomatie chinoise. Si les ambiguïtés persistent, c'est parce que la Chine mène une politique étrangère très pragmatique, avant tout au service du développement de son économie, rythmée par des décisions formulées le plus souvent au cas par cas et en réaction aux changements de situation. La protection d'intérêts à l'étranger de plus en plus conséquents oblige Pékin à adopter un positionnement parfois plus proactif, mais il n'est pas certain que cette évolution remette profondément en cause l'approche pragmatique actuelle.

This conference will examine the stakes of this new race to the Moon and Europe’s interest in asserting itself as a lunar power through partnerships, industrial ambitions, and whether its participation in the new lunar race serves as a lever for strategic autonomy and internal cohesion, or an illustration of its dependence.
