Contemporary international culture is permeated with myths. Of these, three hold a particular place: universality, peace, and supremacy of the law. Myths can be salutary, on the condition that they are understood only as interpretations and not absolute truths. Ignoring this could hurt the West, creator and exporter of the international’s main mythologies. Justice internationale, gouvernement mondial, guerre juste... (Paris, La Table ronde, 2004).
