Technology Policy for Energy and Climate Change: Lessons from a retrospective of thirty years on research development, and demonstration experiences Policy Paper, August 2005

The 11 case studies reviewed in this paper constitute various approaches under the overall framework of hedging strategies. They include both "successes" and "failures," viewed from the benefit of hindsight. Collectively, they suggest a number of lessons learned. These lessons may be useful as countries around the world are devising public policies to address the long-term challence of climate change.
