Cet ouvrage a été rédigé par le consortium européen Insight_e, auquel le Centre énergie de l'Ifri a participé entre 2014 et 2017. Il reprend les conclusions des différents projets de recherche menés ces trois dernières années sur l'Europe de l'énergie, la réduction des émissions de gaz à effet de serre, la sécurité des approvisionnements en gaz et en électricité et les enjeux sociétaux de la transition énergétique.

La transition énergétique de l'Europe : enjeux pour les politiques publiques s'intéresse aux questions de disponibilité et de coût de l'énergie en Europe, ainsi que des interactions avec la croissance économique et la compétitivité sur les marchés mondiaux.
Les résultats présentés dans cet ouvrage sont issus du projet de recherche Insight_E, financé par la Commission européenne. Conçues pour informer le débat public et aider la prise de décision, les différentes analyses proposées par Insight_E ont vocation à être prises en compte dans le développement des nouvelles règles européennes relatives aux systèmes énergétiques. Outre le fonctionnement des marchés, sont également abordés les enjeux sociétaux liés à la transition énergétique, et notamment la question de la précarité énergétique.
